Barrie VanBrackle, Global Co-Chair of the firm’s Payments Practice, advises industry leaders on complex fintech transactions, with a particular focus on payment technology and consumer financial services compliance.
Barrie helps merchants, payment processors, and fintech vendors navigate key issues at the intersection of technology and finance, including:

- Regulatory counseling and investigations, including for new U.S. market entrants
- Payment card industry regulations, including brand operating rules and data security standards
- Money transmission matters
- Prepaid card access
A recognized authority on payments and consumer financial services compliance, Barrie regularly guides clients through transactions involving payment systems participants. Her experience includes advising large merchants and financial technology companies on payment acceptance, payment issuance, co-brand agreements, payment card industry data security issues, and other regulatory matters.
Barrie also has deep experience advising corporate and private equity clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other fintech investments.
She has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Legal 500 US and is nationally ranked for FinTech Legal: Payments & Lending by Chambers USA.
Barrie frequently speaks at industry events and writes on evolving regulatory and compliance issues related to payments and other e-commerce matters.
She is active in the payments community and regulatory space and volunteers with the Merchant Acquirers’ Committee (MAC), a nonprofit trade association within the payment processing ecosystem. Barrie holds a leadership position within MAC’s Government Relations Strategic Insights Group.
Zach Wasserman is Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and has overall responsibility for Huntington’s financial strategy and planning across the enterprise. He leads the Company’s finance, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, treasury, tax and accounting functions.
Prior to joining Huntington in November 2019, Wasserman was Chief Financial Officer for Visa, Inc’s North America business where he led all aspects of financial management for their U.S. and Canadian operations, including financial planning and analysis, strategic planning, fintech initiatives, mergers and acquisitions and portfolio optimization.
Wasserman previously served in a variety of roles at American Express Company as CFO of the company’s U.S. consumer business, as well as roles as CFO for several other divisions of the company including global merchant services, global network services, global commercial card, and the consumer and small business unit in Asia. His other financial leadership roles included investment optimization and corporate planning. Zach began his career as an investment banker at Prudential Securities and Mercer Partners.
Wasserman received his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. In addition, Zach holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Sathish Muthukrishnan was named chief information, data and digital officer for Ally Financial Inc. in December, 2019. In this role, Muthukrishnan is responsible for advancing Ally’s technical and digital capabilities, including cyber security and infrastructure, and accelerating the company’s growth and evolution as a leader in the digital financial services sector. He is based in Ally’s Charlotte corporate center and reports to Ally’s CEO.
Muthukrishnan has held a number of senior technology leadership roles with substantial scale and global reach, and previously served as the chief digital and information officer for Honeywell Aerospace, a nearly $14 billion revenue business within Honeywell International. He brings to Ally more than 20 years of technology leadership experience in complex businesses with high availability and reliability requirements on their technology, ten of which were spent in financial services with American Express prior to joining Honeywell.
Muthukrishnan graduated from University of Madras with a degree in engineering specializing in computer science. He is a member of the Advisory Board of WIT International and was recipient of the Chairman’s Award for Innovation for several years at American Express. Muthukrishnan has over 25 filed patents in the manufacturing, payments and the digital technology space.
Jason leads the retail customer digital products team at Woodforest National Bank. These products include Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Online Account Opening, and IVR. Woodforest has over 750 branch locations across 17 states.
Jason was an early adopter of the Agile framework and automation tools. He has led product development teams for over 25 years in the banking and health care industries. Prior to joining Woodforest, Jason was a Product Manager at McKesson Specialty Health.
Jason lives near The Woodlands, Texas with his wife and two teenage boys.
Carlos Kazuo Missao is Global Head of Innovation at GFT, where he guides some of the world’s leading banking, finance, and insurance companies through large-scale digital transformation journeys. Missao’s work spans the complete overhaul of legacy architectures and full cloud migrations, as well as the adoption of advanced technologies and the introduction of open banking frameworks.
Jack Howard is the Head of Money Wellness at Ally, where she leads program strategy and execution for Money Roots, a free financial wellness program that helps people uncover how their money mindset impacts their spending, saving and investing decisions.
Most recently she served as a Money Wellness coach in Side Hustlers, a reality series which debuted on the Roku Channel in March 2024.
Jack was recognized as a 2022 Outstanding Alumni by the Communications Arts and Sciences College of her undergraduate alma mater, Michigan State University. She holds a Masters in Communications Management from S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University and a Financial Health and Wellness Graduate Certificate from the School of Financial Planning at Texas Tech University.
She serves on the national board of directors for the American Bankers Association Foundation and Society for Financial Education and Professional Development, and the Boys and Girls Club of SE Michigan.
With 30 years of experience in retail banking, Apryl brings a deep understanding of branch operations, customer service, and team leadership to her role as Vice President, Retail Operations Manager.
Apryl is known for her approachable leadership style and commitment to operational excellence. Her core strengths lie in management, training, and retail operations, with a track record of empowering teams and streamlining branch performance.
Throughout her career, she has played a key role in several high-impact initiatives, including the successful implementation of an upgraded online account opening platform, the launch of a new online banking system, and upgrades to image center and item processing platforms.
