Anthony Sharett serves as President of Pathward®, N.A. and Pathward Financial, Inc. In this role, he leads Pathward’s Partner Solutions, Commercial and Consumer Finance, and Tax strategic business lines, as well as the company’s Marketing, Communications, Sustainability and Public Policy teams.

Before being appointed president of Pathward in October 2021, Sharett served in multiple executive-level roles, including Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining the Pathward team, Sharett held several key legal and business unit leadership positions at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, culminating as President of Nationwide Pet Insurance, the largest pet insurer in the U.S., and Interim President for Nationwide Bank, a $7 billion institution at that time.

Previously, Sharett served as partner at BakerHostetler, where he was the national co-leader of the firm’s Financial Service Practice Group.

Pathward Financial is the U.S.-based holding company of Pathward, a financial services company focused on increasing financial availability, choice and opportunity across its two core businesses, Partner Solutions and Commercial Finance. 

Sharett earned a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law, in Columbus, Ohio, where he is a member of the National Council. He graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

Sharett has served in leadership positions for the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity and for the American Bar Association’s Consumer Financial Services’ Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He is a member of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America. His insights have been featured in Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The Business Journals, among other news sources. Sharett is a nationally recognized speaker regarding BaaS and financial access.

Sharett serves on many non-profit and for-profit advisory boards, including the Arizona Community Foundation Board of Directors, Greater Phoenix Leadership Board of Directors, Banner Health Foundation Board of Directors, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Board of Trustees, and as Chairman of the DreamSpring Board of Directors.

In 2023, the Phoenix Business Journal recognized Sharett as one of the Most Admired Leaders in the area, and the Arizona Capitol Times named him to its Banking and Financial Services PowerList.
