James is a seasoned transformational leader with over 30 years of experience across Private and Government sectors, specializing in high-stakes environments characterized by complex counterterrorism, criminal and intelligence operations. A trusted representative of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), James excelled in roles requiring collaborative diplomacy, sound judgment, and leadership across Europe, South/Central America, and the United States.
He fulfilled numerous roles throughout his career, most notably serving as the senior liaison to the Department of Defense and concluding his tenure as the FBI’s senior liaison to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) at Langley. In those roles James spearheaded joint operations that achieved a 70% increase in collaborative efforts, significantly disrupting transnational criminal networks. His tenure in these vital roles underscored a commitment to bridging diverse international and inter-agency relationships, using strategic foresight to transform vision into actionable outcomes.
As an FBI Supervisory Special Agent, James honed a specialty in handling diverse investigative and operational challenges, from counterterrorism, counterintelligence, white-collar crimes, transnational criminal networks and crisis management. His leadership resulted in marked improvements in investigative efficiency and source acquisition, as well as the development of an FBI training program that was adopted enterprise wide.
James has managed significant portfolios, overseeing FBI undercover assets and budgets and leading internal compliance investigations with meticulous oversight. His international expertise was further exemplified when he strengthened international partnerships through overseas deployments to Haiti, Colombia, Ecuador and Africa which resulted in the disruption and dismantlement of several transnational criminal networks.
James was also an operator on FBI SWAT for 15 years and participated in 500+ tactical operations, protected 7 U.S. Attorney Generals, 3 FBI Directors and was responsible for preparing security plans for numerous special events including 3 Super Bowls, NBA Championships, College Football playoff games and NASCAR events. He is a certified FBI firearms instructor.
