Ned Carroll is an Executive Vice President and Head of Data and Automation for PNC Bank. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of PNC’s data strategy as well as leading Technology’s efforts to promote intelligent automation (IA) and artificial intelligence (AI) throughout the organization.

Carroll has over 30 years’ experience in financial services, risk, data and analytics. Prior to joining PNC in July 2024, he was the chief customer officer at Azimuth, a fintech automating regulatory compliance. He previously served as chief data officer at TIAA, where he also served as interim CISO. His prior experience also includes time spent at Bank of America. There, he served as Head of Data Governance, Engineering and Data Science and Audit Director for the Bank’s Global Technology and Operations organization and held several roles in Cyber, where he was responsible for access management, cyber forensics and litigation support.

Carroll began his career at Accenture and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Davidson College in North Carolina.
