Jennifer Smith is the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology and Operations Officer of Zions Bancorporation. As a member of the company's executive committee, she spearheads transformative technology and operations initiatives at an enterprise scale, ensuring long-term value for customers and the community. Jennifer leads with courage and compassion, fostering environments of empowerment, performance, and belonging.

Jennifer joined Zions in 2006 as the Chief Audit Executive, following a successful tenure at Wells Fargo & Company from 1995 to 2006, where she held senior positions including Senior Vice President of Technology Risk Management and Senior Vice President, Director of Technology and Operations Audit. She holds an honors B.A. and an M.S. in Economics from the University of Utah.

Her work has been widely recognized by industry organizations. In 2023, she was recognized by YWCA of Utah with the outstanding leadership award for social innovation. Jennifer has been named one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking in 2021, 2022, 2023 and was listed among Women to Watch in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. She received the Women Tech Council’s Technology Leadership Award in 2018 and was honored as one of Utah Business’s CxOs of the Year in 2019. In 2013, she was selected as an International Women’s Forum Leadership Fellow and was part of the inaugural cohort of Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders in 2014.

Jennifer is deeply committed to community service. She formerly chaired the University of Utah’s College of Social and Behavioral Science Advancement Board, and currently serves on Utah State University’s Data Analytics and Information Systems advisory board, the Women’s Leadership Institute Advisory Board, and the Children’s Center of Utah Board She has also previously held positions on the boards of the YWCA of Utah, United Way of Greater Salt Lake, and People Helping People, and has mentored for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah.
